Raymond Earl Haddock (1936-2017)

Generalmajor Raymond Earl Haddock (*26 September 1936 Oklahoma City, USA ; † 22. September 2017) war vom 1. Juni1988 bis zum 2.Oktober 1990 amerikanischer Stadtkommandant in Berlin. Nach Absolvierung seines Studiums an der West Texas State University erhielt er sein Offizierpatent bei der Artillerie. Während seiner militärischen Ausbildung besuchte er das US Army War College. Im Verlauf seiner militärischen Laufbahn war er Berater in Vietnam. In der Bundesrepublik war er als Kompaniechef, Bataillonskommandeur sowie als Befehlshaber des 56th Field Artillery Command stationiert. Zudem befehligte Haddock die Artillerie der 9. Infanteriedivision in Fort Lewis, Bundesstaat Washington. Im Pentagon war er Stabsoffizier. Vor seiner Ankunft in Berlin war Generalmajor Haddock Stabschef beim Training and Doctrine Command in Fort Monroe in Virginia. Zu seinen Auszeichnungen gehören die Legion of Merit, der Bronze Star, das Purpie Heart und das große Bundesverdienstkreuz der Bundesregierung. -(AlliiertenMuseum 10.08.2018)
