Am 1. September 1994 verließen die letzten Soldaten der Berlin-Brigade vom Bahnhof Berlin-Lichtenberg Deutschland. Der Zug fuhr über Brest (Belarus) und Smolensk, mit einer Zwischenstation in Moskau bis nach Kursk, dem Heimatstandort der Brigade.
