Eine Johann-Gottfried-Herder-Medaille (3. Stufe Bronze) mit Ehrenspange im Etui, verliehen in der DDR nach 1957. Diese Medaille wurde in der DDR in Erinnerung an Johann Gottfried Herder an verdienstvolle Russisch-Lehrer und für hervorragende Leistungen im Fach Russisch für Studierende und Abiturienten verliehen. Die Medaille wurde auf Festveranstaltungen verliehen, deren Mitorganisator häufig die Gesellschaft für Deutsch-Sowjetische Freundschaft war. Abgebildet auf der Bildseite ist die Silhouette Herders. Die Rückseite hat die Inschrift "Gesellschaft für Deutsch-Sowjetische Freundschaft 1957"
